Directions

INSTRUCTIONS

1.)  Notice the top of the page has three different question tabs on which you may interact. Go through the tabs to decide your preferred topic.




2.) Create a Voki, VoiceThread, or write your response inside the comment box to post your response to ONE of the following questions:

    1. What are some ways you would implement a blog into your classroom or educational environment?
    2. List one or more possible benefits of using a blog in the classroom.
    3. List one or more possible disadvantages of using a blog in the classroom.


3.) After you choose and answer one of the questions above, please comment on another classmate’s response on the other TWO questions.



FYI!

  • Blogs do not work the same as the ELC. When you reply to someone’s topic, please make sure you start with the name of the person to whom you are replying.
  • Revisit your original section to see if anyone has commented on your response and reply as appropriate.

Goals

Participants will
  • Use a technological delivery method to respond and engage in discussion
  • Evaluate the role of technology in the classroom by answering questions about blogging
  • Identify ways to use blogging in the current educational setting

From the syllabus objectives: Participants will

  1. Discuss applications of e-Learning in the K-12 environment, including current trends, technologies, and strategies with an emphasis on the use of online collaborative tools
  2. Identify, locate, and evaluate e-learning applications, resources and collaborative tools for suitability.
  3. Evaluate and reflect on professional practice to make informed decisions regarding the use of technology to support student learning.
  4. Identify strategies for using web-based technologies to communicate and collaborate with peers, parents, and the larger community in order to nurture student learning.
  5. Demonstrate effective strategies for online facilitation to promote a positive tone and presence, provide constructive feedback, and use questioning strategies to promote critical thinking.
  6. Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of the design and delivery of online instruction.
